BC Halibut Fishing

Langara Island's nutrient-rich waters play host to an incredible variety of marine life.

Halibut Fishing

Halibut fishing at Langara is as productive as any area on the West Coast.  The deep waters off the west side of our island are home to halibut ranging in size from 15 pounds to a massive 300+ pounds.

But unlike most other halibut fishing locations, at Langara you don't have to go miles offshore into the open Pacific to catch halibut.  Productive halibut fishing can also be found in more protected waters off the east side of our island.

Halibut, including some over 100 pounds, can even be found just a few hundred yards from our lodge docks in the channel between Langara and Graham Island.

Other species

The depths of our waters are also home to healthy populations of aggressive Lingcod and Yelloweye Rockfish.

Skate, Blue Shark, Sablefish and ocean-run Steelhead are just a few of the other species you may find on the end of your line.
