Steelhead fishing trips to the rivers of Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) are available now. We expect strong fishing opportunities to be available from December to late March.
Haida Gwaii's rivers are truly the hidden treasure of BC’s many great sportfishing opportunities.
Three main rivers, each with distinct characteristics, along with numerous minor rivers, creeks and lakes throughout the Islands, provide tremendous fishing for a variety of species all year long.
These waters are very lightly fished and well managed, meaning you are almost certain to enjoy exclusive use of the waters our guides introduce you to.
Steelhead
Steelhead are the main attraction here, and one of the most prized of all of BC's great game fish. Hooking and successfully landing a well-sized steelhead is a real challenge and should be on every angler’s to-do list.
All of our rivers produce consistently strong runs of this magnificent fish in the late fall, winter and early spring.
Other Species
Spawning coho salmon are abundant from late summer through the fall, and resident cutthroat trout can be found all season long.
