Who We’re Swimming With
Our Partners
Langara Fishing Adventures is continuously working to ensure the resources we rely upon are abundant, healthy and sustainable for generations to come, and are happy to support others who share our goals.
Here are some of the organizations we’re proud to partner with.
Salmon Research & Enhancement
Langara has worked closely with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada on numerous studies over the years, including DNA sampling and the defining of survival rates for sport caught-and-released salmon.
Marine Mammal Research
For over 25 years, Langara has provided logistical support for marine mammal research with the Pacific Biological Station (DFO). During that time, over 600 individual Humpback whales have been identified in our waters, a third eco-type of Killer whales was confirmed through data collected here, and rare sighting of endangered Sei and Right whales have occurred in the vicinity of our island.

Certified Tidal Angling Guide Program
All of Langara’s guides adhere to the standards of the Certified Tidal Angling Guide program (CTAG). The CTAG program was developed by stakeholders, government, the guiding community, the Industry Training Authority, and the Sport Fishing Institute of BC to establish best standards and practices for tidal water guides in coastal BC.

Sport Fishing Institute of British Columbia
This non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting and protecting sport fishing in BC. The common goals of its members are to ensure sustainability of our natural resources, and that angling opportunities are maintained and promoted. Rick Hansen Foundation
Langara is very proud of our ongoing relationship with this great Canadian, and with his foundation’s goal of raising money and awareness for spinal cord injury research. Since 1998, the Rick Hansen Foundation has raised over $1,000,000 at annual fishing events and leadership retreats hosted by Langara Fishing Lodge. The Foundation has also assisted Langara in our efforts to improve accessibility at our lodges for people with mobility impairment.

Scholarship Foundation of the Pacific
Established in memory of one of Langara’s original guests — Kane Fernandez of Honolulu, Hawaii — the SFotP is dedicated to strengthening isolated coastal communities through education. Through endowments at three universities (two in Hawaii, one in BC), the SFotP awards a full scholarship to a deserving Haida Gwaii graduate each year. Kane’s love for Langara Island, and longtime support of education in Hawaii, inspired the creation and mandate of the SFotP, and has brought previously unimaginable opportunities to the students of BC’s remote Haida Gwaii.

Pacific Salmon Foundation
The PSF is an independent, nongovernmental charitable organization dedicated to protect, conserve and restore wild Pacific salmon populations in BC and the Yukon.

Haida Gwaii Salmon Unlimited Society
Langara and our guests have helped raise over $1 million over the years in support of the QCISUS, and their efforts to protect wild salmon and their habitats on Haida Gwaii.

Rugby Canada
Langara Fishing Adventures is a longtime supporter of rugby at all levels in Canada, including as official sponsor of Rugby Canada, the British Columbia Rugby Union, and the University of BC Old Boys Ravens Rugby

Mustang Survival
Langara uses Mustang PFDs and Catalyst Floatation jackets/pants for the comfort and safety of all guests and staff.
Ironwood Boats
All boats at Langara Fishing Lodge and Langara Island Lodge are custom designed and built by this premier manufacturer of innovative aluminum boats.

Yamaha Outboard Motors
Reliably powering our boats at all of our lodges for over 20 years.

St. Jean's Cannery & Smokehouse
St. Jean’s is the leading seafood processor for BC’s sport fishing community. Langara guests can have their catch sent direct from the lodge to St. Jean’s for additional processing, such as smoking, canning, or portioning.

Advanced Taxidermy
Langara strongly encourages the releasing of larger salmon. For guests wishing to memorialize their catch of a lifetime, Advanced Taxidermy produces some of the world’s best fish replicas and reproductions. All they need is a photo, physical description, or measurements taken prior to releasing your trophy-size fish.
