Priority Number One, Two and Three
SAFETY
Guests can take comfort in knowing we take every foreseeable precaution to ensure that all areas of our operations meet the highest possible safety standards.

Marine Safety Officer
Langara’s MSO is the heart of our on-water safety program, monitoring weather and water conditions, recommending areas for comfortable fishing, and checking in with every boat in our fleet several times each day.
Boat Safety
Our fleet is custom-built of high-grade welded aluminum and specifically designed for the conditions around Langara Island. All boats are equipped with GPS/Fishfinder, VHF radios, and all recommended safety equipment. If fishing unguided, guests receive a detailed orientation on the safe operation of our boats and equipment.
Marine Clothing
All Langara guests are fitted with Mustang Survival’s top-of-the-line Catalyst Floation jacket and pants, as well as rubber boots. These fishing suits provide superior wind, cold and rain protection and exceed both the Canadian and U.S. Coast Guard standards for floatation.
Emergency Medical Attendant
This past season, Langara Fishing Adventures became the first remote sport fishing operation to employ a full-time emergency medical attendant, enabling us to provide treatment of most medical issues as soon as they happen. Our lodge is also equipped with a well-stocked medical and first aid room, including a portable defibrillator. For serious medical situations, Langara guests can be evacuated to the nearest appropriate hospital, usually via helicopter.

AIS Navigation Monitoring
Langara recently became the first remote fishing lodge operator in the world to install AIS navigation technology on its sport fishing boats, enabling us to track the position of every boat at all times.
