OUR 2021 SEASON

Langara Fishing Lodge set to open July 3rd!

Updated June 20, 2021

Langara Fishing Lodge is pleased to announce the start of our 2021 season is set for July 3rd!

As per all currently announced Covid-related travel restrictions, we are looking forward to welcoming guests from within Canada on this date, and hope to welcome guests from beyond our borders as further restrictions are lifted.

To all of our current Canada-based guests, thank you for your patience as we awaited a turn of good news.  Last month, the British Columbia Health Authority announced a plan and schedule to relax Covid-related restrictions on leisure travel throughout the province. Since then, we have been busy preparing for the Lodge to open, and can’t wait to welcome you!

Canadian guests with reservations in place will be receiving updates in the coming days, confirming their trip schedule.

Travelling from the U.S.

For our U.S. guests, leisure travel between Canada and the U.S. is restricted by both countries at this time. We are, however, optimistic that the rapidly increasing rate of vaccinations on both sides of the border will bring relaxed restrictions soon.

Currently, if you reside outside of Canada and have a trip scheduled later than July 21, we hope to see restrictions removed in time for you to join us this season; if you have a trip scheduled to begin prior to July 21, your trip will now need to be rescheduled.

To discuss rescheduling your trip, contact your Langara representative directly or click below to email our office.

Make plans to join us

Langara’s all-inclusive vacation packages are an ideal choice for families and small groups of friends looking for a unique experience this summer, regardless of fishing experience.

Surrounded by one of the world’s richest marine environments,  a trip to remote Langara Island features spectacular wildlife, awe-inspiring scenery, and the opportunity to fish the richest salmon waters in North America.

With international travel still uncertain, now is the time to ensure you don’t miss out on another summer of memorable adventures with family and friends.

Ensuring a safe adventure

As with all travel destinations, Langara Fishing Lodge’s 2020 season was severely impacted by the Covid pandemic.

The lodge was able to open for a short period when travel restrictions were eased in British Columbia, and a small number of guests were able to enjoy some great fishing at Langara Island.

Although it was disappointing that many of our guests could not join us last season, this limited opening gave us the opportunity to develop and put into practice a Covid Safety Plan, and have it approved by our provincial health authority.

Pre-trip health screening, temperature readings at check-in, revised dining schedules and seating, single-room accommodations (as needed), social distancing, and enhanced cleaning protocols, were all implemented last season.

While we all hope this summer sees a return to normal for travellers coming to British Columbia, we are fully prepared to open with all necessary safety protocols in place.

Langara has partnered with 3sixty5 Medical to ensure our guests enjoy a safe and enjoyable travel experience. 3sixty5 Medical is a B.C.-based company that specializes in providing medical guidance and services in remote environments, and has been providing on-site medical support at Langara Island since 2017.

Since we first opened Langara Fishing Lodge in 1985, the safety of our employees and guests has always been our first priority, and we are bringing that same commitment to the challenges presented by this unique pandemic.

As the start of our 2021 season approaches, and the B.C. Health Officer’s safety protocols are updated, we will be informing our guests of what to expect when they arrive at the lodge.

Updated cancellation policy

Our payment policy has also been updated, for guests concerned about their trip being impacted by continued travel restrictions.

In addition to our normal payment terms: If, within 30 days of your trip date, Covid-related restrictions prevent you from travelling to Vancouver, or prevent travel to Haida Gwaii, 100% of deposits and final payments may be transferred to an alternate trip date in the current or following season, pending availability.
