Langara Island Weather & Tides

March at Langara Island

Halibut spend their winter months offshore, spawning along the edge of the continental shelf at depths ranging from 600–3,600 feet.

In March, these fish will begin migrating inshore to shallower waters around Langara Island, gathering to feed in flat sandy-bottom areas at depths between 100–500 feet.

Langara Island’s close proximity to the continental shelf and nutrient-rich waters make it an ideal feeding area for halibut and countless other species of bottom fish.
